About Us

The University of Dar as salaam Business School (UDBS) is one of the leading institution in commerce and management studies in Sub-Sahara Africa. It was established in 1979, with department of marketing, accounting, human resource and general management.
The UDBS allows and encourages the Students to join and participate in different associations which are run under its umbrella. With other associations, Dar es Salaam University Marketing Association (DUMA) is one of the associations which is very strong within the University of Dar es Salaam. DUMA is a professional association that brings together university students under the common umbrella with role of enhancing its members to acquire the necessary skills, experience, exposure and high performance in marketing.
DUMA’s main objectives are to enhance marketing career among students through creation of various marketing opportunities available and events such as study tours, presentations, public talk, symposiums and social events
Recently, among other things, DUMA successfully organized and prepared several presentations, tours to some companies and intellectuals Day and Night, these events enriched students with exposure and basic skill on marketing profession and business at large and also enabled socio-academic improvement. The following are some of remarkable events run by DUMA with their respective year
DUMA CARNIVAL (2011), the carnival was very entertaining and the President of Dar es salaam University Student Organization (DARUSO) was invited as the guest of honor. We had media coverage in Mlimani TV, Nipashe newspaper and Mwananchi newspaper

WELCOME FIRST YEAR (2011), a talk between the Marketing department staff and students at the University of Dar es salaam. The following instructors attended on behalf of others;

MARKETING DAY (2010), Ms. Naomi from CITI BANK, Mr. Mohamed from Nestle and Mr Imani Kajula the Director of Marketing and Communication from NMB made presentations and inspirational speeches

TRAININGS (2010), Customer Care training, Skills for Marketing of Services training from Volunteer Tanzania Trainer (VOTTRA) (these training have been reoccurring every year)
SYMPOSIUM (2004)    ; ten members of DUMA attended the symposium at Makerere University in Uganda.
